Whether as the frontman of the progressive 70s rock band Argent ("Hold Your Head Up") or as the brilliant mind behind countless worldwide hits for other global stars: Russ Ballard has significantly shaped the DNA of classic rock! His career began at the tender age of 14 when he composed a song for the band The Shadows, which appeared on their album "The Sound of the Shadows." After stints with The Roulettes (as the backing band for Adam Faith) and Unit 4+2, he achieved international breakthrough with Argent. In the mid-1970s, he embarked on a solo career and simultaneously became the most sought-after songwriter for acts like KISS, Rainbow, Santana, or Hot Chocolate. His unmistakable success formula – extremely catchy, immediately ear-pleasing hooklines paired with powerful guitar arrangements – made him a regular in the international charts. After his celebrated tenth solo album "It's Good To Be Here" (2020) and successful orchestral tours like "Rock Meets Classic," he proved his unbroken creative power once again: In spring 2025, he released the spectacular double album "Songs From The Warehouse / The Hits Rewired." While the first part delivers fresh material, Ballard reinterprets his own historic worldwide hits in a contemporary, gripping new guise in the second part. In 2027, Russ Ballard will come to Germany with his high-caliber all-star band, consisting of Paul Bond (lead guitar, backing vocals), P. J. Phillips (bass, backing vocals), John Miller (drums), and Marc Rapson (musical director, keyboards, backing vocals), with stops in Hamburg, Nuremberg, Augsburg, and Munich.
