Ruines et imaginaire. Une mémoire photographique

Description

Four artists—Andrea Knechtle, Jonathan Della Giacoma, Nicolas Lieber, and Steve K9urbex—present their photographic works: castles that were once magnificent, as well as more modest interiors, all of which are—for the most part—in a state of abandonment. These are monuments in ruins, yet they can still evoke the past they once represented. They are the last traces of buildings that are bound, eventually, to disappear—with beams collapsing, walls crumbling, and vegetation taking over. The photographers offer their personal vision of these abandoned places. Even if we don’t know why they were abandoned, these images will linger in our imagination and memory, despite their inevitable collapse. At the same time, on the second floor of the château, the exhibition “Lea Lund & Erik K: Portraits in Abandonment” is on display.
