Description
RUINEN was founded in 2024 and consists of six musicians from the western Lake Constance region, Switzerland, and Germany. Musically, the project is based on the songs of singer and guitarist Dany Horowitz, who has returned to his roots at Lake Constance with RUINEN. Musically, "Ruinen" moves between modern folk, progressive rock, and atmospheric soundscapes. The deep bass of Alexander Ehrat meets the natural warmth of the acoustic guitar and the melancholic piano melodies of Frederik Will. Added to this are the rhythmic drums of Mirjam Wernigk and Simon Seidenschnur, which unfold sometimes reserved and hypnotic, sometimes powerful and pressing. Over all, the distinctive voices of Horowitz and Ehrat, as well as the experimental guitar lines of Moritz Wagner, dominate. The sometimes ultra-melancholic pieces with German lyrics explore the heights and depths of human emotion and psyche. Themes such as fears, grief, and anger are addressed, but also euphoria and spiritual enlightenment. RUINEN always push boundaries: between gentleness and brutality, airiness and gloom, pop and black metal - the range is broad without losing the content, aesthetic, and emotional thread. Live, RUINEN combines the opulent, orchestral-like arrangement with impressive visuals and light shows as a lasting experience.
