Description
Our story begins with a great anger: when Anya reveals her intention to write an opera and is made to understand that great female composers do not exist. A child's anger that makes doors slam and walls shake. An anger to end injustice, prohibitions, and injunctions to become something other than what Anya wants to be: FREE. Since that's how it is, she locks herself in her room and summons inspiration: ghosts of the past, ancestral folklore, electric guitar riffs from her contemporary idols... Through Anya's rebellion, we are really interested in the autonomous strength of a very young girl. But also the assurance that children's anger, far from being mere tantrums, can sometimes be immense powers of reinvention. Created to offer new spaces of autonomy and experience for song, resilient to stage challenges, the Je garde le chien company advocates an original artistic line combining multiple forms and artistic domains. Its creations serve committed messages – female emancipation, attention to the living, otherness, freedom of expression, democratization of opera – and weave links between song and contemporary art.
