ProFive - Five Professors in the Quintet

Artistic excellence combined with contagious joy of playing in the tradition of Würzburg wind soloists. The members of ProFive are all professors at German music colleges. Besides their teaching activities, they also perform as soloists and in other chamber music ensembles (e.g., Consortium Classicum, Ensemble Villa Musica, Residenz-Quintett Munich), but in the exclusive top ensemble ProFive, they always find the symbiosis of professional fidelity to the work and exuberant joy of playing. This is the secret, when at every concert, from the first note, the famous spark jumps ...! At the Days of New Music 2001 in Würzburg, the quintet played the challenging wind quintet by A. Schönberg for the first time in this new formation. The interpretation was highly praised by the press as a sensational highlight. This motivated us to continue the era of Würzburg wind soloists in a new and very lively form.
