Original production about household work, illegal work, care, and long-distance parenting based on documentary interviews with women working in the lowest-paid professions. What is it like to clean in other people's homes, raise children from a distance, and be constantly visible only when you are absent? And what does work, which is so taken for granted that it fades into the background, tell us about the status of women, family, and society? The production Pravidla úklidu opens the theme of invisible work, migration, and care – and examines how unwritten rules shape our lives. The production draws from documentary interviews with women who work in the worst-paid professions. On stage, the experiences of commuters from the Czech Republic and Ukraine, mothers across the borders of Europe, employed in exploitative agencies, and intellectuals from the big city come together. Their characters flow, change, and form a mosaic of voices that speak of difficulties and unexpected strength. Pravidla úklidu is a co-production of Kolonie z. s., A studio Rubín, and Divadlo nacucky!. The expert consultant for the production was social anthropologist Petra Ezzeddine, who has long been researching issues of migration and gender and the relationship between them. The production touches not only on everyday work but also on broader issues – from economic inequality to the impacts of war on the lives of women and families. The result is a vivid performance that alternates poetry, irony, and raw reality, reminding us that society – just like cleaning – has its rules, and that some layers of dust simply can never be completely cleaned away.
