On the state holiday of September 28, 2026 (Monday), we are preparing a special accompanying program, Povídání o útrpném právu, which will complement the castle tours, open from 10 AM to 4 PM. The accompanying program on the history of torture law will take place in the unique space of the former dungeon, located at the entrance to the castle grounds, opposite the lower ticket office. Here, an expert on the topic of torture, Mr. David Křižan, will introduce you to the history of torture law. He will explain in an engaging manner the methods of administering justice in the past, how various offenses were punished, and there will be demonstrations of torture devices. The practical demonstrations depend solely on your interest. The vaulted ceilings of the former dungeon and the installation of stone fragments will add the right atmosphere to the place. Join us on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Šternberk Castle, where castle tours and an educationally entertaining accompanying program will be prepared. We look forward to your visit.
