Planet C is a deceptively simple individual harvest game within a shared ecosystem. It reminds us (re)discover that the tragedy of the commons is not always one. THE CHALLENGE If climate change or biodiversity loss pose existential threats to our societies, why does the ecological transition still elude us? THE GAME Catalyzing the transition This is the challenge posed by Planet C. Guided by a facilitator, 5 to 20 participants will steer the development of a territory they are stakeholders in and learn lessons together. A collective learning... We will aim to achieve our objectives in a system over which we have little information and control. Most importantly, we will not be alone. We will play twice - that's the advantage of a game! - changing the group's dynamic each time. As we will see, it is not enough to sit at the table with good intentions! ... to take action! Once the game is over, participants trace their own journey from Ignorants to Architects. With the help of the facilitator, they will identify the barriers and strategies that helped them overcome them, in a calm and safe space. WHO ARE WE? Planet C is based on years of R&D on participatory foresight tools and collective decision-making in the field. The game was designed by experts in ecology, social justice, and natural resource management. We are a collective of 50 researchers and facilitators from France and Switzerland. An entry fee is requested to contribute to the costs of the room, organization, communication, and travel. Any surplus will be donated to the Planet C organization.
