But at the latest since people can exchange money for other money, invest money globally, or even invent their own money, money is no longer a neutral mediator. The rise of the stock market, the deregulation of the financial system, and digitalization greatly accelerate the self-dynamics of money. PhiloThiK takes an anthropological look at the business of money: How do financial analysts interpret stock prices? Why can capuchin monkeys invest successfully? Why do people create cryptocurrencies? And what does artificial intelligence do to the industry of money multipliers?
