Peteco Carabajal, son of Zita Correa and Carlos Carabajal, regarded as the Father of Chacarera, has evolved Argentine folk music by integrating an innovative instrumental and rhythmic approach, giving rise to the Chacarera Proyección project. His compositions have been performed by many great figures of Argentine popular music, including Mercedes Sosa, Jacinto Piedra, Verónica Condomí, Los Chalchaleros, Los Fronterizos, Los Cantores de Quilla Huasi, Horacio Guarany, Soledad Pastorutti, Los Tucu Tucu, and Teresa Parodi. Today, Peteco Carabajal is considered one of the greatest representatives of Argentine folklore. His work, deeply rooted in popular traditions, reflects a constant commitment to popular culture and the transmission of his country's musical heritage.
