Description

The quartet has developed, over two decades of collaboration, a repertoire influenced by Afro-Caribbean jazz sounds. Calypso, which originated in Trinidad, spread throughout the Caribbean and was popularized in the United States in the late 1950s by Harry Belafonte. Its influence on jazz is still audible today and forms the stylistic core of the program.
This is complemented by pieces of Bossa and Latin as well as carefully selected jazz and soul classics. With much joy in playing, "Padre Padrone" creates groovy, subtle, and sensitive musical moments. No reservation necessary.
