The program of the Pacific Wind Quintet is as international as the ensemble itself: The five musicians from Honduras, Japan, Ukraine, South Korea, and Germany met in 2017 at the Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo – a festival founded by Leonard Bernstein – and subsequently formed their quintet in Berlin. The selection of works spans a wide range: from Verdi's captivating overture to 'The Power of Fate' to compositions by Briccialdi, Respighi, and Farkas, culminating in Dvořák's Serenade in D minor op. 44 – a multifaceted evening that makes the diversity of the wind quintet repertoire audible. A harmonious season finale – with sound colors from various eras and cultures, presented by an ensemble that understands openness to the world as its artistic program.
