Description
The 2026 Sörenberg Orienteering Weekend will take place in Sörenberg and is organized by OLV Lucerne. On Saturday, a regional sprint orienteering event will be held in the village of Sörenberg, and on Sunday, a national long-distance orienteering event will take place in the open Pre-Alps region. The competition center is the valley station of the chairlift in Sörenberg. You can get there by public transportation or car; parking is subject to a fee. Timing will be done using SportIdent AIR+. The sprint orienteering event (Oct. 3) includes all categories as specified in the competition rules, as well as open categories. The long-distance orienteering event (Oct. 4) is a national competition featuring both competitive and recreational categories. The registration deadline for both races is September 21, 2026. Late registration may be possible in some cases. Refreshments will be available on site, and childcare will be provided. The 2026 Junior European Orienteering Cup (JEC), featuring participants from across Europe, will also take place as part of the weekend. The event will be held in the UNESCO Entlebuch Biosphere Reserve, a model region for sustainable development.
