How close laughter and crying, joy and sorrow, homesickness and wanderlust lie together, Opas Diandl present to us with their current program «Riarn & Gspiarn». From these contrasts arises an energy that hits the audience right in the heart.

Since 2007, the quintet from South Tyrol/Vorarlberg has been swirling over the playground of alpine music traditions – and boldly mixes ingredients from their musical backpack: from Bach to Bluegrass, from polka to punk, from contemporary yodeling to classical songwriting.

And even after more than 15 years, melodies, rhythms, words, and syllables continue to flow outward unrestrained – in yodels, tunes, and dances that shimmer, flicker, and pulsate. What emerges on stage is a living organism of sound that will fill the Kunsthalle Appenzell and move the audience.

With «Riarn & Gspiarn», Opas Diandl invite you to an evening full of playfulness, intensity, and subtle surprises – with music that flows directly into ears and hearts.
