O Sole Mio——Trovatori Stranieri (Tenor Trio)

Description

Greek tenor Efthymios (Themis) Basdekis completed his vocal studies at HfMDK Frankfurt under Prof. Hedwig Fassbender with a Master's degree and previously obtained the Greek State Diploma in opera singing with honors. He received musical impulses in masterclasses from renowned artists such as Cheryl Studer and Helmut Deutsch. In addition to roles like Mr. Upfold in Britten's Albert Herring at the Concert Hall Thessaloniki and the Prince in Sleeping Beauty in collaboration with the Zurich Opera House, the versatile singer – who also holds a Master's in Atmospheric Physics – was a member of the Da Ponte Soloists (Frankfurt, DE). Since August 2014, he has been a permanent ensemble member in the choir of the Zurich Opera. Ukrainian tenor Nazariy Sadivskyy began his musical training at the music school in his hometown, majoring in piano, and continued this at the music school in Ternopil, majoring in singing. In 2006, he began vocal studies at the National Ukrainian Music Academy in Kyiv, graduating with a singing diploma in 2012. Between 2008 and 2012, he undertook several concert tours as a choir singer and soloist with the 'Kyiv Symphony Orchestra and Choir' to Canada, the USA, Poland, Kyrgyzstan, and Estonia. In the 2016/2017 season, he worked in the choir of the National Opera of Ukraine in Kyiv. From 2017, he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Bern Concert Theater for four years, where he performed as Ferrando/Cosi fan tutte, Tamino/The Magic Flute for children, Don Ottavio/Don Giovanni, Hans/The Bartered Bride, Edrisi in Szymanowski's King Roger, The Young Man in Boesmans' Reigen, Lieutenant Jaschwin/Anna Karenina, Dancaïro/Carmen, Ruiz/Il Trovatore, Kudrjasch/Katja Kabanova, and Advocate in Schoeck's The Castle Dürande (with CD recording under the direction of Mario Venzago), Cassio/Othello, Steva/Jenufa, and Alfred/The Bat. Since January 2022, Nazariy has been a member of the choir of the Zurich Opera. Vahan Markaryan was born in Armenia. He began his musical and vocal training in Russia and then continued it in Armenia, where he completed his studies at the Komitas Conservatory in Yerevan. He then moved to Germany, where he completed a postgraduate study at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold. While still studying in Germany, he received his first permanent engagement at the Theater Bonn. Later, he moved to the Theater Basel and has been a member of the choir at the Zurich Opera House since 2019. In addition to his work on the opera stage, Vahan Markaryan regularly dedicates himself to various concert projects and smaller opera productions. He shares a special joy with Trovatori Stranieri in discovering a diverse repertoire together with his tenor colleagues outside of the opera routine and sharing their passion for singing and music directly with the audience.
