Nils Wülker

Description

Nils Wülker has developed over the past twenty years into one of Europe's most successful jazz trumpeters and composers. He played in the JugendJazzOrchester NRW and studied at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin. Even before graduating in 2002, he released his debut album "High Spirits" with SONY Music. This was followed by five albums on his own label EAR Treat Music, which earned him enthusiastic reviews as a "German jazz miracle." In addition to tours with his own band, he worked with greats like Ute Lemper or Lee Ritenour and produced for artists like Samy Deluxe. Wülker's career is marked by numerous milestones: - Awards: Among others, ECHO Jazz as "Instrumentalist of the Year" (2013) and multiple German Jazz Awards in Gold. - Stylistic diversity: Collaborated on the album "UP" (2015) with Jill Scott and Max Mutzke, while the album "ON" (2017) was inspired by hip-hop. - Orchestra projects: Collaborations with the NDR Radiophilharmonie and the acclaimed orchestra album "CONTINUUM" (2022) with the BR Munich Radio Orchestra. Together with guitarist Arne Jansen, he released the duo album "Closer" (2023), which sensationally reached number 15 on the official German charts. In early 2026, his fifteenth album "Zuversicht" was released. Meanwhile, Wülker shone as a guest soloist, hosted his own radio show, and curated the jazz program at Schloss Agathenburg for over a decade. Contributors: Nils Wülker
