Nils Wülker Quartet

Description

Nils Wülker has developed into one of Europe's most successful jazz trumpeters and composers over the past twenty years. He played in the Youth Jazz Orchestra NRW and studied at the Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“ in Berlin. Even before graduating in 2002, he released his debut album „High Spirits“ with SONY Music. This was followed by five albums on his own label EAR Treat Music, which earned him enthusiastic reviews as a “German jazz wonder”. In addition to touring with his own band, he collaborated with giants like Ute Lemper and Lee Ritenour and produced for artists like Samy Deluxe. Wülker's career is marked by numerous milestones:

• Awards: including ECHO Jazz as “Instrumentalist of the Year” (2013) and multiple German Jazz Awards in gold.
• Style diversity: collaborated on the album „UP“ (2015) with Jill Scott and Max Mutzke, while the album „ON“ (2017) was inspired by hip-hop.
• Orchestral projects: collaborations with the NDR Radiophilharmonie and the celebrated orchestral album „CONTINUUM“ (2022) with the BR Munich Radio Orchestra. In early 2026, his fifteenth album „Zuversicht“ was released. Besides, Wülker shone as a guest soloist, hosted his own radio show, and curated the jazz program at Schloss Agathenburg for over a decade. Nils Wülker (tr)
