Description Suddenly shrunk to thumb size, Nils Holgersson finds himself on the back of the escaped domestic goose Martin - traveling with a flock of wild geese on the way to Lapland. But the animals meet him with suspicion, after all, he is a human, and who knows what they are plotting! Nils must prove himself: against the dangers on the journey, the cunning fox Smirre, who is pursuing the group, but also against the image the animals (not unjustly) have of him. High in the willows, through rain and wind, over fields, forests, and cities - the group, led by the strict lead goose Akka, continues to soar through the skies and Nils grows beyond himself,... Maybe back to his old size? The children's book "The Wonderful Journey of Little Nils Holgersson with the Wild Geese" by Nobel laureate Selma Lagerlöf tells an adventure story about new friendships and perspectives, the relationship between humans and nature, and the courage to change.
