Achim Fiedler, conductor
Greet the new year with a musical journey through Vienna! The program's highlight is the 200th birthday of Josef Strauss, whose works, along with the famous waltzes of the Strauss dynasty and melodies by Franz Lehár and Emmerich Kálmán, revive the splendor of Viennese ballrooms. A highlight is music from Kálmán's successful operetta Countess Mariza. As a lively contrast, traditional Schrammel music is played, capturing the charm of Viennese heurigen culture. Look forward to an varied concert evening with the VS Symphony Orchestra and chief conductor Achim Fiedler full of elegance, Viennese joie de vivre, and lively tunes to kick off the new year.
