I had the chance to film Marc Smith, the inventor of slam poetry, during an evening in Chicago. Listening to his poems, some spectators eat their hands, so impressed they are. And you, have you ever had this feeling, when faced with a poetic text, that it wasn’t you reading it, but that he was reading in you? Writing and reciting poetry is much more than rhyming. Does "poetry will save the world," as Jean-Pierre Siméon suggests? Maybe. Surely, it can change the lives of those who speak it and those who listen to it. We will see how this is possible, we will have fun with rhythms, sounds, ideas, images, and – who knows? – make those who listen to us eat their hands. Narcisse has been creating shows blending poetry, music, and technology for 20 years, performing worldwide. French slam champion 2013, nominated for the Molières 2026, he is currently preparing a show about Jacques Prévert.
