Rachmaninoff's Villa Senar, Zinnenstrasse 6, 6353 Weggis Musical Introduction to Rachmaninoff's Operas, 16.15 Uhr In November, Opernhaus Zürich will present a new production of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s three operas: Aleko, The Miserly Knight und Francesca da Rimini. At Villa Senar, Prof. Philip Ross Bullock (Oxford University), the Basel-based baritone Robert Koller and the pianist Asia Ahmetjanova will jointly introduce the three works and their anti-heroes — featuring their key arias, performed live and delivered with entertaining virtuosity. This concert-lecture in English is guaranteed to be the most lyrical and exciting way to get in the mood for Sergei Rachmaninoff’s vastly underrated operas.
