A word. A piece by Dieter Roth was a berserker of art. The Swiss exceptional artist created works from chocolate and decay, archived everyday waste, and treated language like raw meat. In the early 70s, he planted a fertile seed in Herbert Fritsch's mind with his one-word poem 'Murmel Murmel', which blossomed on the stages of the Berliner Volksbühne in 2012. Now, the production is returning to its Swiss homeland. Fritsch reconstructs his original staging and brings this lyrical stroke of genius to the main stage. With Roth and Fritsch, two radical border-crossers meet who effortlessly break the chains of convention. They reduce without flattening. Their art remains mysterious, but not unsolvable.
