Description

muralim does not build musical walls – they tear them down. The Zurich quintet led by saxophonist and composer Mauro Reimann combines contemporary jazz with groove, funk, electronic colors, and the energy of a band that visibly enjoys playing together. Alongside Reimann, Joachim Frey plays guitar, Tim Bond on piano and synthesizers, Elias Kirchgraber on bass, and Martin Maron on drums. Catchy melodies meet sophisticated structures, warm sounds meet surprising twists. The music can be light as a feather and develop a solid drive in the next moment. muralim plays jazz that doesn't want to sit still: open, melodic, groovy, and always ready to push its playing field a bit further outward.
