The brothers Andreas Ottensamer and Daniel Ottensamer are among the most outstanding classical stars of our time and come from a Viennese musical family. Andreas Ottensamer became the principal clarinetist of the Berlin Philharmonic at the age of 21, a top position he held for over 10 years. Since then, he has mainly dedicated himself to conducting and is celebrated by audiences and the press for this. As a conductor, he works with renowned orchestras such as the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg and the Berlin State Orchestra. Daniel Ottensamer also became the principal clarinetist of the Vienna Philharmonic at the age of early 20s and still holds this top position today. He is award-winning and celebrated worldwide as a soloist. His musical collaborators include, among others, Daniel Barenboim, Sir András Schiff, Riccardo Muti, Manfred Honeck, and Franz Welser-Möst. Together, the brothers now present Mozart's Clarinet Concerto at the Elbphilharmonie. Mozart composed the work for his friend Anton Stadler, the elder of the two famous clarinet brothers Stadler from Vienna. The second movement is one of the most famous pieces of classical music and has been used multiple times as film music. For the finale, Andreas Ottensamer will debut as a conductor with Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's "Italian" Symphony at the Elbphilharmonie. The popular symphony is the musical diary of the Italian journey that took the composer to Venice, Florence, Rome, Naples, Pompeii, Genua, and Milan. CAST
