Description

Mount Jacinto is a local band featuring Costa Rican musician Sonya Carmona. After her work with bands like Colornoise and Las Robertas, she founded Mount Jacinto as a space for expansive, emotionally rich soundscapes. The music is inspired by Mount San Jacinto near Palm Springs and the open expanses of Northern California, embodying a sense of freedom and boundlessness. The band includes Seraina Lutta (EMZYG) on drums, Joel Morales on bass, and of course Sonya Carmona on guitar and vocals. With their debut EP Outward Signs, the band laid the foundation for their distinctive sound in 2023. In November 2024, their first album Silver Lining will be released by Taxi Gauche Records.
