Description
Morgana Dance piece by Giuseppe Spota with a new composition for orchestra and electronics by Christof Littmann. In his full-evening choreography, choreographer Giuseppe Spota refers to old Italian tales according to which the fairy (Italian: Fata) Morgana, with air mirages, misled sailors or desert travelers. No longer limited to myths, her magic today is based on data, and Morgana resides on our screens: in feeds, she creates the illusion of reality and proximity as an endless stream of curated present. Giuseppe Spota shows us a world full of illusions and reflects our digital age, where social media subtly blurs the boundaries between reality and illusion. In a composition commissioned specifically for this dance evening by Christof Littmann, orchestral and electronic sounds intertwine into a multi-layered, shimmering soundscape, where mythical depth and digital fleetingness intertwine. An evening of dance that acoustically and visually connects the figure of Morgana with the contemporary illusions of digital media. A production by Bern Ballett.Highlights
