Description

Barbara Yelin's graphic novels tell stories of women caught between personal responsibility and societal constraints. «Irmina» traces the path of a young woman becoming a follower during National Socialism, «Gift» depicts a woman's failure under societal norms. In «Emmie Arbel. The Color of Memory», we meet a Holocaust survivor who survived several concentration camps as a child and continues to live with the consequences. Anette Gehrig and Dominique Grisard discuss responsibility, memory, individual agency, and societal influences.
