Twelve-year-old Mia is somewhat of a magnet for trouble. She's always late, loves quirky clothes, zooms around town on her skateboard, has a pet rat named Quentin as her best friend, and above all, she believes that monsters exist! After another escapade gets her expelled for good, she ends up at the mysterious Rotwood Academy hidden deep in the woods. And she can't believe her eyes. Vampires? They're here. Witches? Also here. Strange creatures? Everywhere you look! Welcome to a school where fun and mishaps are part of the curriculum! At Rotwood Academy, Mia discovers a whole new world. The hallways are filled with all sorts of monsters, vampires and witches sit in the classrooms, and being a little weird is more of an advantage here. There's just one catch – Mia is human. And if she wants to stay among the monsters, no one can find out. So she must convince her classmates and teachers that she is one of them. Fortunately, she soon finds a great group: the good-natured Oscar, who sometimes literally loses his head, and the vampire cool guy Paprika, a vegan who prefers tomato juice over blood. Amid all the magic and oddities, Mia discovers for the first time that being different might not be such a bad thing after all. But no proper monster school is complete without a proper villain. Enter Principal Van Vlad, a fearsome vampire who can't stand ordinary mortals. Moreover, he has a plan that, if executed, will leave no humans in Primrose. Mia and her monstrous friends must save the town, thwart Van Vlad's plans, and above all, not reveal that their newest friend is a human! Mia and the Monster School is a family animated comedy packed with magic, crazy ideas, and quirky heroes, ensuring there's never a dull moment. The perfectly polished Primrose is a far cry from the quirky Rotwood Academy – here, it's normal to be abnormal, and the simple rule applies: the weirder you are, the better! And it's here that Mia learns she doesn't have to be like everyone else to finally belong somewhere.
