Description

An adaptation of the latest (and according to the author, the last) novel by Michel Houellebecq about the loss of meaning, about relationships we couldn't maintain, and about what happens when we stop believing that the future could be different. European identity is disintegrating, the far right is gaining strength, and the world around us is making less sense. Paul, a close associate of the minister, observes not only the disintegration of the political system but also of his own family. His father is seriously ill, his marriage is failing, and relationships with his siblings are strained or non-existent. The boundary between political events and private life is becoming increasingly blurred. The question of whether life can be happy is not voiced aloud, but it hangs in the air. Hope that something can be fixed has disappeared. Nothing. Destroy.
