The theme of this opus becomes life itself, everyday actions, and exceptional moments. My Struggle can be perceived not only as the story of a specific writer but primarily as a testimony about us, about our feelings and thoughts that we often do not even admit to ourselves. The subtitle A Man in Love details the relationship with his wife Linda: “We told each other everything, as lovers do, and although there was something unbearable about all that happiness and we knew it couldn’t last forever, the thought that it could happen filled us with horror.
