Accompanying People with Dementia

In Switzerland, 144,000 people live with dementia. Dealing with this disease presents a great challenge for everyone: relatives, caregivers, and visitors. Dementia requires a lot of empathy, understanding, and tolerance.

The course provides basic knowledge about different forms of dementia and their impact on everyday life. Using case studies from practice, participants practice handling particularly challenging situations. In "Validation," they learn a method that enables access to people affected by dementia, confused, and mostly elderly.
