Well-read, a passionate collector of bibliophile treasures and equipped with a keen sense for music and drawing: Melchior Prisi (1957-2020) was a self-taught artist. He rarely appeared in public and worked in seclusion on an impressive body of work on paper. After his death, 1001 works in A4 format were discovered — drawings in pencil, charcoal, and oil pastels as well as collages. They offer insight into the complex issues the artist explored. The Kunstmuseum Solothurn is presenting a comprehensive selection of his unique work in the Northwest Hall.
