Description

The first smartphone is a big step for children, often accompanied by many questions. When is the right time? What rules make sense? How can risks be minimized without damaging trust?

The course "My First Smartphone" supports parents in competently and age-appropriately guiding their children on the path to their own smartphone. The focus is on conversations and concrete agreements that parents and children can make together before the first smartphone. This lays the foundation for responsible and safe use of digital media.

In addition to considerations about the entry time, protection options such as youth protection and control apps are critically examined. Advice is given on what "accompaniment in media use" could specifically mean.

The course is rounded off with impulses on topics such as setting boundaries, shaping media times, and building trust.

Course goals:

• Gain confidence in the decision-making process around the first smartphone
• Concrete conversation and agreement aids for everyday family life
• Strengthening parental media education competence
