Together on the Internet – A Prevention Workshop for Parents and Children

Description

How do children navigate the internet? What games, videos, and platforms do they use – and what does that mean for their safety?

This interactive workshop for parents with their children aged 5 to 9 offers a joint, age-appropriate introduction to the digital world. A special feature of the workshop: the children actively take on the role of explainers and show their parents how they move on the internet, what they like, and what concerns them.

The Zug Police professionally accompanies the workshop and provides child-friendly and practical inputs on safe behavior on the internet. Typical risks are addressed and simple rules are conveyed that children can understand and apply in everyday life. Parents also receive valuable tips on how to attentively, supportively, and preventively accompany their children.

Workshop contents:

• Joint exchange between children and parents about internet use
• Playful sensitization to dangers and proper behavior online
• Preventive tips from the police – age-appropriate and practical Strengthening children's media literacy and parents' accompanying competence

This event is for parents of children/youth between 5 and 9 years old.

Organization: Frauenzentrale Zug in cooperation with Zug Police and Zug Library.

This event is supported by the Canton of Zug and is part of the "Hey Zug" campaign.
