Wax models, reproductions of diseased body surfaces created from molds, have been used as realistic documentation of historical patients in research. At the same time, they have also been used as models in medical training. The tour discusses this special significance of the remarkable wax reproductions using different patient examples in a medical and medical-historical context. As part of the accompanying program for the exhibition «Models – Shaping Knowledge» at extract, this visit takes you to a place where scientific models are still used today in research and teaching.
