Following his first solo program "Fascination Allgäu," cabaret artist Maxi Schafroth continues his bizarre observational journey seamlessly. "Fascination Bavaria" is the second milestone in his long-planned cabaret trilogy. Schafroth's idea for his cabaret trilogy reportedly came at the age of seven when he touched an electric fence in Gumpratsried near Eggisried. "That was consciousness-expanding!" says Schafroth, who also received solid cabaret training during his IHK apprenticeship as a bank clerk and is listed on Wikipedia as the second most prominent person from his hometown of Stephansried (78 inhabitants) — after faith healer Sebastian Kneipp. His beginnings as a cabaret artist go back a long way: in 2007, the then early 20s Maxi performed at the Vereinsheim München on the open stage "Blickpunkt Spot." In 2009, he continued on BR Fernsehen at "Ottis Schlachthof." Today, he is considered part of the top tier of German-speaking cabaret artists, awarded among others with the Prix Pantheon 2013 and seasoned through his role as the chief Bavarian Levite reader at the Derblecken on the Nockherberg (2019 to 2025). In "Fascination Bavaria," the journey takes us out of the structurally weak Allgäu region, over the Lech River, into the blessed university city of Munich. There, Maxi Schafroth encounters Starnberger dentist children in SUVs, Munich bourgeois in mustard-yellow corduroy pants, and trendy couple scenes with wooden-look glasses. He brings us closer to the versatility of the largest federal state by area and advocates as a nationwide cultural coach for tolerance and coexistence.
