Matthieu Michel Trio

Description

The Matthieu Michel Trio brings together three personalities from the European jazz scene: trumpeter Matthieu Michel, Patrice Moret on double bass, and Christophe Calpini on drums, along with sound textures. Initiated by composer and producer Blaise Caillet, this project offers artistic direction by presenting compositions from an avant-garde electronic universe that serve as a field of exploration for the three improvisers. The trio will present this music in a new album set to be released in early 2027. Their music develops a contemporary jazz characterized by airy sounds, subtle lyricism, and great attention to space. This acoustic elegance is blended with electronic textures and pulsations, creating a sound universe that is both sensitive and absolutely current.
