Description

Young knight Walther falls in love with Eva, the beautiful daughter of goldsmith Pogner. To win her hand, he must triumph in a singing competition bound by rules and defeat the guild masters. The clerk Beckmesser also competes for Eva's affection, stealing Walther's prepared song. Only Hans Sachs can help the young couple if he can acknowledge that love and art cannot be constrained by strict rules.
