HLAS VÁNOC – an exceptional Christmas recital by Martin Chodúr, one of the most prominent voices in the Czech-Slovak music scene. Hlas Vánoc is a new concert project by Martin Chodúr, created specifically for the Advent and Christmas season. The Christmas recital, accompanied by piano, string quartet, and flute offers listeners a unique musical evening, blending festive atmosphere, strong emotions, and high interpretative quality. The program features a wide selection of pieces related to the theme of Christmas – from well-known Czech and Slovak melodies to global Christmas classics. Expect to hear famous Christmas hits from pop, jazz pieces, and traditional gospel, arranged in an original and inventive way that highlights the exceptional color of Martin Chodúr's voice and the delicacy of the acoustic accompaniment. The repertoire includes pieces such as Bílé Vánoce, Down by the Riverside, Hallelujah, Vánoční zvon, and more. The repertoire draws from the legacy of the greatest performers of the 20th century and emphasizes melodicity, expressive singing, and the true Christmas atmosphere that is inseparable from the holiday. The musical accompaniment features a string quartet composed of members of the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, with leading Czech pop and jazz pianist Vlastimil Šmída on piano and young talented flutist Adéla Švanová on flute.
