Note, explore, transform ideas – Martial Leiter's sketchbooks tell a story, reveal stages, and deepen a thought until its completion or abandonment. In 2021, thanks to the support of the Friends of the BCUL, the Library acquired the notebooks mainly related to his work as a press illustrator, but also sometimes to the more "free" part of his activity. The artistic gesture is revealed through these unique documents showing how Martial Leiter, from a quick note, arrives at a finished drawing.
