Performers: Markus J. Bachmann & Ana Poli An actor and author in his mid-50s facing a crisis: stroke, move to the nerve-racking Berlin, writer's block. He decides to move to the countryside by the Baltic Sea to live with his 86-year-old mother. She is lively, highly energetic, a heavy drinker, and self-determined, and has always had a close bond with him. Indeed: her company, working in the garden, swimming in the sea, and whiskey at the pier gradually restore the narrator's mental balance and also remind him of grotesque moments from his early years as an actor.
Julie Grothgar's production highlights the tragicomic contrast between awareness of one's own shortcomings and the freedom of play, creating a genuine homage to the theater with her stage version. Duration: 1 hour 40 minutes, no intermission
