Description
Malala Yousafzai, daughter of a school principal in Pakistan, writes a blog for the BBC in which she describes everyday life under the Islamist regime and vehemently advocates for her right to education. When the Taliban shoot the then fifteen-year-old on October 9, 2012, Malala becomes world-famous. Undeterred by death threats, she continues to assert her demands. On her sixteenth birthday, she delivers a speech at the United Nations. In 2014, she receives the Nobel Peace Prize. The British author Nick Wood takes a strictly subjective approach to bring this story closer to the young theater audience: An author sits at a table and reflects on Malala. Questioningly, she approaches the story of an extraordinary person. In doing so, she repeatedly reflects on her own prejudices and assumptions. A quasi-documentary research about Malala, whose story shows us all one thing: That the courageous actions of a single person can be decisive for how we see the world.
