Description

Malala Yousafzai from Pakistan has been writing a blog about everyday life under the Islamist regime and the bans for girls for the BBC since 2009. She vehemently advocated for her right to education. When the Taliban shot at the then fifteen-year-old in 2012, Malala became world-famous. Despite death threats, she continued to demand education for girls. On her sixteenth birthday, she delivered a speech before the United Nations. In 2014, she received the Nobel Peace Prize. An author approaches the story of this extraordinary person questioningly in the play. She reflects on her own prejudices and assumptions and realizes that courageous actions by an individual can be decisive in how we see the world.
