A joint concert of two projects that approach darkness from opposite sides. While Jan Vozáry and the late Mejla Hlavsa transformed the dark works of the Plastics into poisonous electronics, Poly Noir is built on the foundations of dark americana, drawing from the legacy of Ennio Morricone, Johnny Cash, and Nick Cave. Magická noc Magická noc navigates the intersection of big beat, alternative rock, and electronic music, combining energetic rock and electronic elements with original Czech lyrics. It is a unique interpretation of the cult songs of The Plastic People of the Universe in a 'digital underground' style, created in the 90s by Jan Vozáry and Milan “Mejla” Hlavsa. The project returned to the scene in honor of Mejla Hlavsa's uncelebrated 75th birthday and the release of the official reissue of the album “Magická noc (In Memories of the Plastic People)” on CD and vinyl under the label Guerilla Records earlier this year. In its current concert form, the project Magická noc consists of: Jan Vozáry – drums, synthesizers, samplers, choirs, and Luboš Vodák – vocals. Poly Noir & The Holy Spirit Smugglers Poly Noir is a “noir americana” project by Poly from the metal crossover staple INSANIA. The accompanying band The Holy Spirit Smugglers includes Tom Šlápota, Jan Fic, and David Horák. The music is inspired by dark figures like Ennio Morricone, Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, and the “poet of despair” Cormac McCarthy. In 2024, they released the album “K mýmu ohni nesedej”. The songs are ruthless, without self-pity. Life doesn't coddle you? Indifference. The landscape and the city continue on their own path. Amen.
