Description
This concert series features performances of innovative piano music controlled by a machine system developed by the Institute for Computer Music and Sound Technology (ICST). The system, mounted on traditional pianos, uses 88 magnet actuators to enable nuanced, simultaneous key presses with varying strength and speed, opening new artistic and technical avenues. Recent enhancements include a pedal automation system allowing precise machine control of the sustain pedal, further expanding expressive potential. The series investigates the artistic, technical, and aesthetic possibilities of machine-based music creation, highlighting compositions that explore the complex capabilities of this advanced instrument.
