Description
This time we discuss the new book "Times of Greatest Danger" by Julia von Lucadou. A captivating novel about the slipping away of a life with great narrative intensity: Julia von Lucadou writes about the abysses of repression – about fear, insecurity, trauma, and the need for protection. Jot, in his mid-fifties, leaves nothing to chance. His entire existence is focused on planning and control – working for a company that sells bunkers to the super-rich, he has found the ideal job and has, of course, also prepared privately for emergencies. But then he encounters a dead body during his running routine, and his carefully constructed security system begins to crumble. The image of the half-naked body won't let him go. But why does the police speak of suicide? Deeply unsettled, Jot must realize that his perception and memory have gotten out of control, and answers can only be found if he dares to descend into the sealed shafts of his past. A highly topical novel about fears and insecurity in our crisis-ridden present and the dangerous power of repression. The event is part of the supporting program of this year's Wenkenhof Talks and will be held twice: Wed 18.11. and Thu 19.11. Moderation: Roland Lötscher
