Icon of a new generation of classical guitarists, Thibaut Garcia will be accompanied by Antoine Morinière, with whom he has formed a duo for over ten years. Both have left their mark on major international stages. Invited to the most prestigious classical music festivals, the duo's chemistry works again and reaches a peak with this unprecedented adaptation of the Goldberg Variations, a true masterpiece by Jean-Sébastien Bach.
The result of a year of collaboration where the musicians combined their talent and energy to create this adaptation, Thibaut Garcia and Antoine Morinière offer us here a subtly revised version for two guitars where the refined contrapuntal discourse of this piece is approached with virtuosity and where the intertwining voices delight the listeners. Regarded as a "rare phenomenon in the recent history of classical guitar," Marcin Dylla has experienced a meteoric success following an impressive number of awards obtained in the most prestigious international competitions, including the Guitar Foundation of America and the Michele Pittaluga Competition. His reputation has led him to perform in the most beautiful halls, such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Carnegie Hall in New York, or the Taipei National Concert Hall in Taiwan, engaging in both solo recitals and collaborations with renowned orchestras like those of the Warsaw Philharmonic, Turin, or St. Petersburg.
The first part of the program will feature Spanish music from the dawn of the 20th century, with J. Turina, J. Manén, F. Tarrega, J. M. Sanchez-Verdu, and J. Rodrigo. Followed by the admirable "Sonata Clasica" by Mexican composer M. Ponce, which marked his attachment to 19th-century classical music. The impressionist writing of the composer, diluted with inspirations drawn from Spanish and Mexican folklore, as seen in the 24 preludes, will close this program.
