Description

Matilda leaves her village in Italy and embarks in Genoa. Three weeks later, she disembarks in Buenos Aires on February 32, 1901. Matilda loves life. We are at the beginning of the 20th century: the hope of a destiny to be built through her encounters between community and new identity. It is in the brothels of Buenos Aires that Tango was born. The plot is built from the texts of the first sung Tangos. We will be immersed in the universe of Guardia Vieja: La Violetta, La Cumparsita, La Morocha, Evaristo Carriego, Temo. The protagonists question their destiny, desire to be, facing life, death, sexuality, and love. Tango, Tango... That's what she sings when opening her shutters... Who is she? Le Tango de Matilda is a performance exploring the beginnings of tango in Buenos Aires through the journey of Matilda, an Italian immigrant. The show, lasting 80 minutes, is aimed at teenagers and adults and will take place at Teatro Comico in Sitten.
