Pierre Arditi plays André, an elderly man once triumphant, now showing the first signs of mental degeneration. His daughter Anne, played by Irène Jacob, hosts him in her apartment. She only seeks to help and protect him, but the progression of his illness becomes inexorable. Both angry and disoriented, he gradually loses reason and regresses into childhood under his misty gaze. Through surprising stage devices, the production takes the audience into the twists and turns of a sick mind. Roles switch and become interchangeable, furniture changes occur from scene to scene, dialogues echo like a scratched record, between true and false, nightmare and reality, as the space empties and the end, inevitably, approaches.
