Description

In Molière's comedy, it's not just about money, but above all about the love of young people. Love is the true dramatic drive here! All characters are driven by intense, inappropriate, secret, thwarted desire. Connections form and dissolve less according to social rules and more through attraction that transcends boundaries. Without explicit naming, the production unfolds a stream of emotions, glances, and bodies. The tensions are made visually apparent: loving differently, loving on the side, loving despite walls… Molière's words, whose musical rhythm is preserved, rub against silence, breaths, and gestures that express what the text does not articulate. The comedy remains lively, sometimes wild, yet it is permeated by a dull melancholy: it tells of lives that could have unfolded differently. At its core, despite all the comedy, the production is about a man who does not understand how to love, and about young people who refuse to love according to imposed rules.
